We are able to dispense glasses from a prescription provided by Clare and Howard or by using an external prescription from any other optician.
We can supply almost any type of lens as we work closely with lots of different quality manufacturers allowing us to source a lens type which is specific for your needs.
We supply Zeiss lenses but have close links with Essilor, who can supply us with basic standard plastic lenses to the top-of-the range thinner, coated "hi-index" lenses.
High Prescription Lenses
To give our patients as much information as possible we can provide lens thickness calculations for patients with high prescriptions. This enables the patient to select what type of lens material they require in order to achieve the best cosmetic appearance.
Thinner materials not only improve the 'look' of the lenses but also reduce the weight of the complete glasses. The material and design of the lens is paramount in achieving the best end result which the patient is entirely happy with.
Hardcoat, 'Anti-glare' Coating & Photochromic Lenses
Spectacle lenses can also have the addition of a hardcoat, which prevents scratching and prolongs the life of the lens, and an 'anti-glare' coating which reduces reflected light which is particularly helpful for drivers and computer users. This optically is of a benefit but also makes the lenses look thinner and cosmetically improved by elimating distracting reflections from the lens surface.
We supply photochromic lenses, which change colour with the sunlight, and tinted or mirrored lenses.
Finding the Right Lenses For You
You may find it quite difficult to choose a frame and lens type which is appropriate for you. So our dispensing optician or any of the trained optical assistants will spend as much time as you require to find the ideal spectacles.
It is so important to us that your completed glasses are both optically and cosmetically perfect. We will endeavour to fit your new spectacles for optimum comfort but are happy to provide alterations and adjustments whenever you may need them.
